Abstract Background: linear scars cause cosmetic problem to many patients especially if it is in apparent area. Recently fractional microneedle radiofrequency is used in treatment of linear scars. PRP injection and collagen induction can be used too in treatment of linear scars. Aim: the aim of our study is to compare the efficacy of fractional microneedle radiofrequency versus the efficacy of collagen induction combined with autologous plasma filler in treatment of linear scars. Methods: Twenty patients with linear scars were enrolled in this study. Detailed history and examination was done to evaluate the scar using mVSS scoring system before and after the end of treatment sessions. In each patient, one scar or part of scar not less than 5 cm (section A) was treated by microneedle fractional radiofrequancy device. Another scar on the same patient or part of scar not less than 5 cm (section B) was treated by microneedling collagen induction combined with injection of autologous Plasma filler. Results: In our study we compare the efficacy of fractional micro-needle radiofrequency & collagen induction combined with plasma gel injection. Both modalities were effective, but our results were significantly better with fractional micro-needle radiofrequency (p value =0.046)ractional micro-needle radiofrequency showed significantly better results with less side effects |
