Abstract

The amount of difference in the volumes of red blood cells is considered one of the important vital indicators of the progress or deterioration of the disease state in intensive care, and it also helps us to evaluate treatment and intervention to improve the health status of patients. where the amount of difference in the volumes of red blood cells is measured routinely in critical care units within a picture Whole blood. It gives us an indication of the improvement or delay of heart and respiratory diseases and the length of stay in the intensive care units, as its increase indicates a high rate of inflammation in the body due to changes in the wall of red blood cells, which leads to the cracking of red blood cells and an attempt to replace them with immature cells from the marrow bone, which leads to an increase in the distribution of red blood cells. The aim of the study: To know the extent of the effect of the amount of different red blood cell volumes in children with critical conditions and its effect on the clinical outcomes of the cases.
