Abstract

Poly L (+) Lactic acid (PLLA) was synthesized using direct polycondensation method. The polymerization method was tried with various catalysts such as metal oxides and metal halides. The effect of amount of catalysts, amount and the type of coupling agent were investigated. The effect of reaction time and polymerization solvents were carried out. Poly Lactic-co-glycolic acid with different ratio between two monomers was synthesized by polycondensation method. The polymerization was carried out with different catalysts, and coupling agents. Poly caprolactone was synthesized with melt polymerization at different amounts of catalysts, and various coupling agent. Isosorbide dinitrate was loaded into each polymer using solvent evaporation technique. The produced polymer-drug system was characterized by FT-IR, TGA, DSC, XRD, entrapment efficiency (E.E), drug loading (D.L), particle size analysis, zeta potential determination; In-vitro release studies were carried out by UV at 227 nm at different pHs, kinetics of release and cytotoxicity by SRB assay on Human skin fibroblast cells. Miconazole was loaded into each polymer with cellulose acetate using electrospinning technique. The produced nanofibers were characterized by FT-IR, SEM, and TGA. The release of Miconazole was also investigated.
