Abstract Cow’s milk protein allergy (CMPA) is the most common food allergy in infants and can affect a family’s quality of life. CMPA is a caused by a baby’s immune system reacting to proteins in cow’s milk. Some babies may develop CMPA after eating or drinking products containing cow’s milk protein, which can cause an immune reaction resulting in allergic symptoms. Even when indicated in infants and children diagnosed with an allergy, the type of dietary products to eliminate and the duration of such elimination are not always logical. Elimination of all cow’s milk products, without appropriate substitutions, can lead to malnutrition and/or specific nutrient deficiencies at a time when infants and children are growing. So we must be sure of CMPA diagnosis to avoid unnecessary diet for growing infant. Many studies done revealed lack of knowledge of physicians and parents about CMPA that lead to malpractice. So, in our study we targeted a sample of physicians and parents who can lead with CMPA in Ismailia to assess the level of knowledge about it to know if it is a community malpractice of CMPA in this area. This study carried out at GIT clinic of SCU hospital, and primary health care units in Ismailia Two separate surveys conducted, one for physicians and the other for parents. We enrolled on our study 65 physicians and 100 parents |
