Abstract The liver is pivotal organ in body it has several biochemical, metabolic functions and energy production (Asija et al., 2015). Liver diseases are among some of the fatal diseases in the world today, they pose a serious challenge to international public health. Hepatic fibrosis is a wound healing response to chronic liver injury, which is characterized by a net accumulation of extracellular matrix (ECM) including collagen, glycoproteins, and proteoglycan (Li et al., 2016).Carbon tetrachloride (CCl4) is a well-known hepatotoxin that is widely used to induce experimental liver fibrosis and cirrhosis in rodents (Jin et al., 2016). CCl4 is a long-lived greenhouse gas and an ozone-depleting substance. Its emissive production and consumption are regulated under the Montreal protocol on substances that deplete the ozone layer and its amendments. (Carpenter et al., 2014). |
