Abstract Heart failure is one of the cardiovascular diseases that have high morbidity and mortality especially among children. It account for 2% of all pediatric inpatient admission. Early diagnosis of heart failure is crucial for early management and for improving risk satisfaction from death from heart failure. cMyBP-C is cardiomyocyte specific sarcomeric protein that regulates sarcomeric structure and its function, it is released in circulation in response to cardiac injury. The aim of the work was to explore the role of cMyBP-c as a biomarker in heart failure in children. The work was done on 26 patients with heart failure due to congenital heart disease or cardiomyopathy, it was conducted at pediatric cardiology unit in Zagazig University hospital from October 2017 to October 2018. |
