Abstract Photocatalytic processes over semiconducting oxide surfaces have attracted worldwide attention as its potentially efficient, environmentally friendly and low cost methods for water/air purification as well as for renewable hydrogen production. Many semiconductor catalysts can be used, but Titanium dioxide (TiO2) is the most commonly semiconductor catalyst used in photo-induced reactions.Mainly due to the high capability to break down the organic pollutants and obtain complete mineralization. Moreover, Titania is readily available, non-toxic and its cheap cost combined with a high photocatalytic activity. In this thesis, cellulose acetate-carbon nanotube (CA-CNT) composite nanofibers was used as a holder of the catalyst |
