Abstract

A study was undertaken to explore variations in biochemical, morphometric and fingerprint of three cultured fishes, clarias garpineus, Oreochromis niloticus and cyprinus carp collected from El-Manzala fish farm El-Dakhalia Governorate. The study was conducted to investigate the probable hematological, histological and molecular biology of three species. The results revealed that a significant increase in RBCs, Hb, Pcv, total leukocytic count and ESR in both sexes in clarias garpineus, Oreochromis niloticus and cyprinus carp at the end of experiment. The variations in biochemical constitute as well as moisture, protein, fat and ash in skeletal muscles of male and female specimens of three species as mentioned before. The present work reports results of examination of the blood of different three species clarias garpineus, Oreochromis niloticus and cyprinus carp presenting the normal levels of the Erythrocyte counts and the the number of leucocytes and their different counts, haematocrit values, haemoglobin content, erythrocyte sedimentation rate and specific gravity. It is to be noticed that , the cyclic nature of haematocrit variability is very similar to that observed in both the erythrocyte counts and the haemoglobin content. It is concluded, therefore, that there is a clear correlation between the three hematological parameters, the red cell count, the haematocrit value and the haemoglobin content. The variations of different species are also demonstrated in the total differential counts of leucocytes. An explanations for these changes is not yet available, since the exact function of each leucocyte type in teleosts is still obscure. Systematic position, synonyms and diagnostic features of three species as mentioned before it is essential to give note on the systematic position of the three species considered as introduction to the biometric studies on fishes reared at El- Manzala fish farm. The alterations of molecular biology could be explained on basis of that the changes in the metabolic pathways of the studied fish the present study deals with the morphometric characteristic of clarias garpineus, Oreochromis niloticus and cyprinus carp with the aim of clarifying the identity of the local population in relation populations in other farms. Generally, most of the measured parameters tended to increase between length groups. This biphasic active occurring in cellular multiplication could be inferred from increased DNA content. The capacity of protein biosynthesis as expressed by elevated RNA/DNA ratio and protein content, particularly in active organs like muscle and liver, appeared to be linked to availability of food and higher feeding activity especially in culture months.
