Abstract Our research is an Interdisciplinary study in which we analyzed the figurative element in the writing of Antonio Buero Vallejo. In our study we attempt to deepen the analysis of this figurative element, especially in four of his works: The Maids of Honour (1960), The sleep of reason (1970), Secret Conversation (1984), A Mission to the Abandoned Village (1999). In these four plays, the presence of the three great painters El Greco, Velázquez, and Goya and the aesthetics of their creations are very prominent. In addition, we analyze the paintings of the three painters and how they were incorporated on stage in the four plays of Antonio Buero Vallejo. |
