In Egypt, sugar beet crop considers the first sugar crop followed sugar cane, for sugar production. Sugar beet is liable to be attacked by several diseases, which cause severe losses in root yield and percentage of sucrose. Many fungal diseases infect sugar beetroots such as damping-off and root-rot diseases. This study aimed to control damping-off disease using some methods such as fungicide and evaluation of some cultivar sugar beet to damping off. The results achieved in this study could be summarized as follows: 1. Isolation from the disease seedling of sugar beet plants collected from different fields on Kafrelsheikh indicated that Pythium spp was the most frequently isolated fungus (52.8%) followed by Rhizoctonia solani (19.6%) and F. oxysporum (13.48%). |
