Abstract In order to know the effect of the magnetic water treatments on maize, field experiments were conducted in 2018 and 2019 in the Agricultural Engineering Department, Faculty of Agriculture, Cairo University. Twenty treatments included three treatments of salinity water levels (S1: 1000 ppm, S2: 2000 ppm and S3: 3000 ppm), two magnetic treatment device (T1: magnetic field strength of 24 mTesla and T2: magnetic field strength of 14.5 mTesla), two seed treatments (M_seeds: magnetize seeds UM_seeds: UN-magnetize seeds) and two fresh water treatments (with and without magnetize seeds) on maize plant under trickle irrigation system. Two both vegetative and reproductive phases and Water use efficiency of maize were measured for studying the effects of magnetic water treatments under different salinity water. Where, plant height (253 and 180.95 cm), ear weight (213 and 186.68 g), ear length (19.525 and 18.33 cm), ear diameter (4.9 and 4.98 cm), seed weight (166 and 144.05 g), shilling (77.94 and 77.17), seed index (40.5 and 40.9), Grains yield (4.57 and 4.53 ton fed-1) and water productivity was (1.47 and 1.87 kg m-3) in both seasons, respectively. The results showed that all magnetic water treatments with magnetic seeds were better than magnetic water treatments with non-magnetic seeds in different level of salinity water in both magnetic field 14.5 and 24 mTesla. The best results were recorded in the treatment (fresh water with magnetize seeds) in all parameter of study. |
