PDT is one of the effective modalities to treat malignant tumors. The essay discusses the definition and prerequisites of PDT and the applications of PDT in the management of head and neck neoplasia. PDT can be used as the main modality of treatment in early head and neck cancer and as a palliation for advanced head and neck tumors.
