Abstract

Introduction: Endometrial fibrosis is defined as intrauterine adhesions usually occurring after curettage or any uterine surgery, usually results in recurrent pregnancy loss and infertility. Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) can be used effectively in treatment of a wide spectrum of fibrotic diseases. Aim of the work: The aim of the present study was to evaluate the role of MSCs in the treatment of endometrial fibrosis, and to compare this effect with the effect of estrogen and neupogen either each alone or as a combined therapy with MSCs. Methods: The experimental study was performed on 84 albino rats which were divided into seven groups as follows, group 1: normal control group, group 2: fibrosis group, group 3: fibrosis that received oral estrogen, group 4: fibrosis that received hMSCs, group 5: fibrosis that received hMSCs and estrogen, group 6: fibrosis that received neupogen, and group 7: fibrosis that received hMSCs and neupogen. The amount of fibrosis, vascularization, and inflammation were evaluated by; histopathological examination, qRT-PCR for (IL-1, IL-6, TNF, VEGF, TGF-Ý, and RUNX), ELISA for CTGF and western blotting for collagen-I
