Abstract This study has been aimed to: investigate the serum level of IL-6 in patients with liver diseases (HCV, HBV& HCC) and find out the correlation between the level of interleukin -6 and these diseases. In addition to investigate the serum level of some biochemical parameters as AST, ALT and ALB in patients with these liver diseases and investigate the correlation between IL-6 level and each biochemical parameter in each disease. To fulfill the target of this study, 80 subjects were selected. They classified into 20 healthy subjects (control group G1), 20 patients with HCV (G2), 20 patients with HBV (G3) and 20 patients with HCC (G4). All parameters (AST, ALT, ALB and IL-6) were measured in the four studied groups. Finally all experimental data were tabulated and statistically analyzed to investigate the correlations. Results obtained from this study: The serum AST and ALT levels increase in the HCV, HBV and HCC patients comparing to control group, serum ALB level decrease in the HCV, HBV and HCC patients comparing to control group and IL-6 serum level elevated in the HCV, HBV and HCC comparing to control group |
