Abstract
This research basically aims at enhancing organizations’ performance, increasing the organizations’ ability to survive in the dynamic competitive market, and sustain their competitive advantages. It investigated the relations between management control systems (MCSs), strategy formulation and implementation, organizational capabilities, and organizational performance. It investigates the sittings of the Egyptian business environment in control process and formulating and implementing strategies in order to achieve organizational objectives. To achieve the research objective, literature was surveyed to develop a model to enhance the performance. Due to MCSs, to be successful in the current business environment, organizations need to analyze their internal capabilities and analyze their external environment. Therefore, using SWOT analysis to improve organizational strategies, in addition to integrating SWOT analysis with one of MCS tool; BSC, to implement these strategies, is suggested to be tested. The conducted empirical study addressed the following relations. First, the effect of SWOT analysis and LOC integration on organizational performance directly and indirectly through its effect on organizational capabilities. Second, the effect of using LOC framework on organizational performance. Third, the effect of using BSC as a tool to implement LOC framework. Fourth, the KPIs in the Egyptian business environment and its effect on organizational performance. Fifth, the effect of using organizational capabilities as a mediator variable between MCS and organizational performance. The population of the empirical study consists of the CFOs of listed organizations in the Egyptian Stock Exchange Market. The selected sample is the CFOs of the listed organizations that their headquarters location is within Cairo and Giza Governorates. A self-administrated Structure questionnaire was used for data collection
