Abstract Newcastle disease virus (NDV) genotype VII is incriminated in the currently circulating NDV outbreaks in the Middle East region. In this study evaluation of different vaccination regimes including genetically matched or mismatched vaccines against challenge with currently circulating field vNDV genotype VII was performed. One hundred and seventeen chicks one-day-old Arbor Acres broiler chicks were divided into in to 9 groups (Gp1-Gp9), n=13/groups (10 challenged and 3 contacts added after challenge). Gp1, chicks were vaccinated with Hitchner B1 and Clone 30 vaccines via eye DROP at one and 18 days–old, respectively. Gp 2, chicks were vaccinated against NDV with Hitchner B1 via eye DROP and oil-emulsion inactivated (killed LaSota) ND vaccine via S/C injection (0.5ml) at one and 10 days old, respectively. Gp3, chicks were vaccinated with Hitchner B1 and Clone 30 vaccines via eye DROP at 1 and 18 days–old, respectively and oil-emulsion inactivated NDV via S/C injection (0.5 ml) at 10 days old. Gp4, chicks were vaccinated with Hitchner B1 and genetic matched live vaccines via eye DROP at one and 18 days–old, respectively. Gp5, chicks were vaccinated with Hitchner B1 via eye DROP and genetic matched inactivated (0.5ml) injection at one and 10 days–old, respectively. |
