Abstract

To improve ART outcomes, one fundamental problem that needs to be solved is the thin endometrium which has been identified as an important factor in implantation failure.
The follicular fluid (FF) provides the microenvironment in which oocytes develop, mature, and ovulate. Significant relationships were reported between different follicular fluid compositions and oocyte quality, fertilization rate, embryonic developmental potential, and pregnancy outcome.
Accordingly, this study aimed to evaluate the effect of intrauterine follicular fluid injection on endometrial thickness and implantation.
This randomized control trial (RCT) was conducted at El-Shatby University Maternity Hospital and private Fertility Centers on 60 women. Thirty women underwent intrauterine injection of follicular fluid in the endometrium cavity at the time of oocyte retrieval and the other 30 women represented the control group.
There was no statistically significant difference between both groups regarding the demographic characteristics and hormonal profile.
Long agonist protocol was used (73.3%) in group I and (60%) in group II while antagonist protocol was shown (26.7%) in group I and (40%) in group II, there was no statistically significant difference between the two groups. Number of retrieved oocytes and oocyte maturity were comparable between both groups. All cases in both groups were transferred on day 4 or day 5 and the number of transfer embryos was from 1-3 in both groups with no statistically significant difference.
