Abstract
This thesis is concerned with the analysis of some drugs affecting smooth and/or skeletal muscles. It comprises two parts:
Part I is a general introduction and literature review on Neostigmine methylsulfate as well as descriptions of various analytical methodologies for determining Neostigmine methylsulfate, 3-hydroxyphenyltrimethyl ammonium methylsulfate, and 3-dimethylaminophenol as its impurities in the presence of citric acid as a dosage form additive.
Part II contains literature review of Amlodipine besylate and Irbesartan in addition to several analytical methodologies that were described for analyzing the binary mixture.
The introduced methods include chromatography, chemometrics, capillary electrophoresis, spectrophotometry and electrochemical methods. They are characterized by their reproducibility and adequate degree of sensitivity for the assay of the cited drugs in their pure powdered form and marketed formulations
