Abstract

Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is one of the most common causes of chronic liver disease and its prevalence is increasing worldwide.Transient elastography (Fibroscan) is noninvasive, accurate and reproducible test of liver stiffness and hepatic steatosis in wide spectrum of liver diseases including NAFLD. It is also useful to predict patient outcomes. Several liver fibrosis markers which has been previously evaluated for the patients with viral hepatitis particularly HCV-infected patients, has also been validated in patients with NAFLD\NASH, such as APRI, FIB4 and NAFLD score
