Abstract

• Lung ultrasound is a useful tool to asses lung areation.
• LUS has prognostic value in determing the outcome of weaning process.
• Early initiation of NIV and diuretics can improve weaning outcome and decrease risk of reintubation through improving LUS in patients with high LUS.
