Abstract
The research aims to identify the Morphological development of the apartment building typology in Modern Times. Providing an analytical architectural documentation of the morphology of the apartments building is the main research aim. Two research objectives are thus formulated. First is to identify Cairo{u2019}s Historical Development; second is to identify the morphological development of apartment buildings in Zamalek. A qualitative descriptive analysis of eight case studies, two of each phase of the Colonial, Modernist, Nassersist, and Capitalist, is implemented through sketches and diagrams. The analysis is executed on the urban and architectural level and the residential unit level
