Abstract

Eco-design is considered as an access to the merger and integration with the weather, culture and nature in the surrounding area. And also we can understand Eco-design in the Egyptian context as a new type of buildings which provide an environmental learning experience for people from the natural and cultural life surrounding it, more than science and knowledge surrounding natural environment and its manifestations. Starting with attempts to unify design and ecology among modernists in the 1930s, this study clarifies as an ecological design{u2019}s mixed history up to the end of the cold war in the late 1980s. It is a history that starts with attempts to relaunch the Bauhaus school among environmentally concerned Britons in London and ends in visions about ecological world management on the part of equally concerned Americans in the United States. The key of both designers and ecologists to this diverse history is their shared attempt to unify art and science in order find practical solutions to environmental problems. A major factor is ignoring standards in library buildings which cause a great amount of energy consumption so we must increase awareness of librarians themselves about environmental concerns.
