Abstract
This thesis introduces a low cost dilatometry technique based on laser shadowgrahpy to investigate the thermal expansivity of tungsten at elevated temperatures, using simple incandescent light bulbs as test samples. Optimization of experimental conditions and parameters were studied to achieve good matching between measured and published data, in order to carry out these measurements by undergraduate students
