Abstract

{u2022}The aim of this study was to investigate possible factors that predict the response to colchicine in children with Familial Mediterranean Fever (FMF). It was a cross sectional study including 101 FMF patients divided into 2 groups according to FMF50 score. Both groups were studied regarding (demographic data, clinical manifestations , disease severity, colchicine therapy, laboratory findings and genetic data). The study suggested that colchicine response is excellent in the majority of FMF patients (72.2%) . Some clinical findings such as erysipelas like erythema (ELE), arthritis and chest pain, laboratory findings such as elevated C- reactive protien (CRP) and erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) during attack-free period, and increase disease severity were associated with a less favorable colchicine response.
