Abstract
The study dealt with the behaviors of seeking health information among workers in the voluntary field in the Swedish society. The researcher applied the descriptive analytical method as a way to find out the tools for searching for health information by the study sample, and the questionnaire was used as a basic tool for the study.
The study came in a methodological introduction, four chapters, then results and recommendations, in addition to five appendices.
These chapters can be briefly reviewed as follows:
Chapter One is entitled ”Behaviours in Seeking Health Information: Entries and Foundations.”
This is followed by the second chapter entitled ”Health informatics culture.”
Then the third chapter entitled ”Results of the field study”, in which the researcher dealt with a number of demographic determinants and their relationship to the behaviors of seeking health information among the study sample.
And finally, the fourth chapter entitled “The proposed vision for developing the values of health informatics culture, and combating the phenomenon of the information epidemic.
The study concluded with a set of results, the most important of which are;
1. The general trend of the study sample recorded the use of Facebook most in seeking health information related to Covid-19 with 83%, followed by YouTube with 43%..
2. The researcher concluded that the official pages of the Egyptian government are the most viewed and interactive by the respondents (the study sample) by 81%, as they provide information on the health and medical field for the public to take care of the health of the individual and family according to the best medical standards, followed by the World Health Organization..
3. The majority of respondents (study sample) are satisfied with the role played by NGOs in Beni Suef Governorate by 79%, with regard to defining Covid-19 disease, addressing it, and showing ways to prevent it..
The study recommends a number of recommendations, the most important of which are;
1. Establishing a digital platform to counter rumors affiliated with the Supreme Media Council..
2. Implementation of educational awareness programs that include (lectures, seminars, activities, brochures...) planned by the Ministry of Health to increase health awareness among different groups of people..
3. Allocating a curriculum for preventive health education for school students, which is specialized in clarifying the concepts of epidemic diseases, how they spread and what are the ways to prevent them..
