Abstract A major problem that faces any dentist while preparing a cavity for adhesive restoration is that after removal of caries infected dentin (CID) large area of caries infected dentin (CAD) will remain in cavity floor. CID) cannot be remineralized or bonded to and must be removed while (CAD) can as recent studies confirmed can be remineralized and bonded to but it isn’t a good substrate for bonding , as it is produced lower bond strength to adhesive composite resin with poor quality of resin reinforced dentin hybrid layer (hybrid layer) than normal sound dentin. Also, it has limited durability due to its poor quality of hybrid layer when subjected to environment of oral cavity hydrolysis of collagen fibrils will occur. Many authors suggested new strategies of remineralizing (CAD) to improve its bonding properties to composite resin restoration. Many remineralization approach including several biomimetic materials like sodium fluoride (NaF), (CPP-ACP), bioactive glass material, egg shell powder solution, biomimetic and ynthetic peptides, all attempting to remineralize dentin substrate to increase bonding frequency. |
