Abstract Our study was done to measure the intensity of suicidal ideations in the patients diagnosed with schizophrenia and co-morbid depression attending the general psychiatry outpatient clinics, and also comparing the severity of depression and suicidal symptoms in patients diagnosed with schizophrenia and co-morbid depression who are compliant on treatment regarding taking with conventional or atypical antipsychotics. This study is Cross Sectional, Comparative Study involved a total of 92 participants using convenient sampling who attended the general psychiatry outpatient clinics who are diagnosed with schizophrenia with co-morbid depression. The participants were interiewed for a short pre-designed sheet regarding sociodemographic data, psychiatric, medical history, medication history. Followed by SCID I for diagnosis of schizophrenia and depression according to the DSM-IV, Morisky 8-Item Medication Adherence Scale (MMAS). |
