Abstract

This thesis is concerned with the quantitative determination of some drugs containing carboxylic acidor its derivatives. In this thesis, colchicine (amide), probenecid (carboxylic acid), ciprofloxacin HCl(carboxylic acid) and fluocinolone acetonide (corticosteroid drug), were studied as representativeexamples for carboxylic group containing drugs.
The aim of this work was to develop different analytical methods which are characterized by simplicity,accuracy and sensitivity for the analysis of the cited drugs in their pure forms, and in pharmaceuticalformulations, degradation products, or official impurities.
This thesis consists of 6 chapters in addition to summaries in Arabic and English;
Chapter I; General introduction and literature review of the investigated drugs.
Chapter II; Stability-Indicating chromatographic Methods for the Simultaneous Determination ofProbenecid and colchicine.
Chapter III; Smart spectrophotometric methods for stability assessment of two co-formulated antigoutdrugs
Chapter IV; Two Validated chromatographic Methods for Determination of Ciprofloxacin HCl, One ofits Specified Impurities and Fluocinolone Acetonide in Newly Approved Otic Solution
Chapter V; Classical versus chemometrics tools for spectrophotometric determination of ciprofloxacinHCl, fluocinolone acetonide and ciprofloxacin impurity-A in their ternary mixture
Chapter VI; New potentiometric method for determination of Probenecid in dosage form and human
