Abstract

Maintenance is the concept of all activities needed to maintain the quality of work facilities, machinery, and equipment to functions correctly and originally. And in addition, the Aircraft maintenance is more complex, comprehensive and continuous process, where the aircraft needs inspection, maintenance, adjustments and replacements of necessary parts to support international standards.
In general, aircraft should be maintained with appropriate condition monitoring in all assemblies, subassemblies, rota table parts, service life, and line replacement units after a specified period of time or flight hours / flight cycles.
The issue of availability occupies great importance in the field of aircraft maintenance, despite the presence of several research papers that have been written in this field, but some need to be researched, including (Total productive maintenance).
Therefore, this study aims to assess the impact of the implementation of total productive maintenance and its effective role in increasing availability, which was carried out in one of the aircraft maintenance centers in Egypt, where this center works on the maintenance and overhaul of aircraft and their parts.
This study discusses the answer to the main study question, which is (Is there an effect of applying total productive maintenance on the availability of ground support equipment at the airport under study).
Also, discusses how to improve the performance of the maintenance center by improving the availability of ground support equipment by reducing the number of faults and their down time by using total productive maintenance. Why was the availability specifically chosen without choosing another problem, then we will process a solution to this problem.
This Thesis used an approach depends on the study and analysis of previous writings in this field, whether in theory or applications related to the topic of research, in order to form a theoretical framework. An implementation of TPM approach based on theory and practice in the Aircraft Ground Support Equipment sector.
Within the TPM methdology, opportunities to improve equipment effectiveness, improve the maintenance Process Efficiency and Effectiveness.
By implementing this TPM methdology, the Maintenace Center can achieve a Significant in their Performance, increase early equipment maintenance prevention, improve the skills of all employees and Involving operators in all routine maintenance.
The Maintenace Center can achieve business stability with its equipment efficiency and effectiveness.
