Abstract Nile tilapia fry with average weight of tilapia fry 0.4 g/fry were distributed randomly among 24 glass aquaria. Nile tilapia fry were stocked at 80 fry per aquarium. The experiment consisted of four treatments, with 3 replicates aquaria per treatment. (0.5‰, 5‰, 10‰ and 15‰). Nile tilapia fryattained higher harvest weight whenreared at 5‰ salinity compared with other treatments, while the lowest harvest weight wasobserved at 15‰ salinity after 47 days of rearing. The best growth of tilapia fry was observed within a salinity range of0.5-5‰, when compared to thoseof the higher salinity range of 10-15‰. Tilapia fry had better Feed Conversion Ratio and protein efficiency when reared undera salinity range of 0.5-5‰ comparedto those raised under higher salinity conditions of10-15‰ |
