Abstract The experimental work of the study was carried out at the Agriculture Experimental Station, Faculty of Agriculture, Cairo University during the period from March, 2013 to July, 2013. This study was performed to determine the influence of age, species and sex on blood hematology, metabolic profile and the concentration of some hormones in blood of newborn sheep and goats from birth to weaning. Twenty animals were used in this study, ten suckling Ossimi lambs and ten suckling Damascus kids. Changes in hematological profile red blood cells RBC (10⁶ /ml³), white blood cells WBC (10³/ ml³), Hb (g/100ml), Ht %, hormones (IGF-1, leptin and T₃), growth rate and blood parameters (total protein, Immunoglobulin{u2019}s IGg ,Albumin, cholesterol and triglyceride) were studied.
