Abstract
the maximum likelihood consider a simplest and sfficint method of estimation but sometimes may be product biased or inconsistent estimators. the modifed profile likelihood method aims to solving the problems which appears form the likelihood method. hence obtaining on improvement estimation to the unkown parameters. the search include 1-a reviw of the modifed profile likelihood function 2- using the modified profile likelihood function under orthogonal parameters to estimate the shape and seale parameter for the generalized exponential distribution based on complete sample and censored type II and cpmpare the new estimation with the profile likelihood estimation
