Abstract The present study aims at identifying student teachers`oral performance problems at Faculties of education English department in Yemen and proposing remedial design for those problems. The descriptive-analytic method is adopted in this study. Forty second year student teachers at Abs Faculty of education in Yemen are the participants. The study includes a checklist for identifying the important oral performance skills required for second year student-teachers, a questionnaire to measure oral performance skills` level of difficulty as perceived by student-teachers and the frequency of strategy use among them, and a test for revealing the actual oral performance problems. The results indicate that students are facing a lot of oral performance problems, their level is poor, and their strategy use is very limited. Thus, the researcher proposes remedial design for overcoming these problems |
