Abstract

One of the big problems associated with complete loss of all natural teeth is the ridge resorption or residual ridge reduction RRR, This procedure unfortunately is accumulative irreversible procedure, meaning that when the residual alveolar ridge undergo resorption it will never regenerate. Advanced ridge atrophy affects both the retention and stability of the denture and lead to poor denture function and patient dissatisfaction. Implant supported or retained overdenture is considered one of the successful treatment options for this problem. The aim of this study is to compare between two splinting bar designs with four implant supported overdenture and to evaluate their effect on bone height around the implants radiographically. Ten completely edentulous patients were selected free from systemic disease and with normal maxillo-mandibular relationship. Each patient received four implant fixtures placed, two in the canine region and the other two implants in the 1st molar region (the implant system used is the osteoseal system
