Abstract

The present work was carried out on the soils of El Fayoum governorate to identify the soil zinc status through executing a semi-detailed soil survey and its relation to some soil physical and chemical properties (ECe, %, total CaCO3, pH, and organic matter content). This was achieved by using simple correlation, multiple regression and stepwise regression. One hundred soil samples were collected from one hundred soil sites following the grid system at distances1.5 km in average to allocate the representative samples model positions which are exacted by the GPS. The status of zinc in the studied soils have been investigated in different sites having differed soil textural classes in El Fayoum governorate under local and environmental conditions. The obtained results revealed that there is a wide variation in zinc contents, depending upon the differences of soil CaCO3, organic matter and soil pH. The highest nutrient values were detected in soils having high clay content. Building Geographic database was built for some soil physical, chemical characteristics and available zinc contents of El-Fayoum governorate soil. Also, distribution of the studied characteristics and mapping them using Geographic Information System (GIS) and format and illustrated in digital maps. Moreover, this study comprised digital map for zinc element requirement needed for soils of El Fayoum districts
