Abstract
The First is an introduction which is composed of two parts. The first part is a brief literature survey on the different methods used for the synthesis of 2 - thiouracil and different isomers of [1, 2, 4] triazolopyrimidines, especially [1, 2, 4] triazolo [4,3 - a] pyrimidines. The second part is a brief survey on targeted therapy including MMPs as one of the recent fields of research; also a brief discussion of MMPs different classes of inhibitors is provided. The second chapter demonstrates the aim of the work based on molecular modeling study on MMP - 8 active site and structure activity relationship, along with the schemes that have been carried out to obtain new 2- substituted thiopyrimdine derivatives, and [1, 2, 4] triazolo[4,3 - a] pyrimidine derivatives. The third chapter explains the theoretical discussion of the experimental work used for the preparation of the newly synthesized compounds, together with explanation of their spectroscopic data.
