Abstract
This master{u2019}s thesis introduces the modeling of the treatment of mixed industrial {u2013} municipal wastewater with the Activated Sludge system. The modeling equations were based on the Activated Sludge Model number 3 (ASM3) with some modifications to respond to changes in temperature. The results {u2013} after calibration showed that the ASM3 model can be used to model the mixed wastewater reatment with very good accuracy, and that the STOWA wastewater characterization equations needed to be modified to account for the presence of industrial waste
