Abstract In clinical practice, burn survivors demonstrate impaired balance in rehabilitation. And so, this study was performed to evaluate the effect of whole body vibration on balance after healed burns. Thirty patients were included in this study. Their ages ranged from 20 to 45 years, they were divided into two groups: group (A) received whole body vibration, 3 days/week for 8 weeks. group (B) received traditional physical therapy, 3 days / week for 8 weeks. The measurements were done before the study and after 8 weeks of treatment for both groups by using the Biodex stability system (for dynamic balance). It showed decrease in the overall stability index after treatment for group (A) and (B), with percentage of 49.85%, 27.77%, respectively by the biodex stability system assessment. There was a significant difference between two groups after the treatment. Whole body vibration is effective in managing impaired balance in rehabilitation of burn survivors |
