Abstract Failed treatment of proximal femoral fractures typically leads to profound functional disability and pain. Most surgeons prefer total hip arthroplasty as a salvage procedure. These fractures are often associated with poor bone quality, a damaged femoral head due to previous internal fixation, damaged articular cartilage, or limb- shortening. Also the arthroplasty allows early mobilization and pain relief needed in the old age group. This study included patients with ununited proximal femoral fracture and failed metalwork studied prospectively. Patients were covered over a period of 1 year from the first of January 2019 to the end of December 2019 with minimum follow up of one year. |
