Abstract In this study, samples of commercial Portland cement mixed with different ratios (10-50%) weight of crushed waste silicate glass were prepared in the shape of well-dried cylinders. Then, their physical and mechanical properties and radiation-shielding ability were investigated. The compressive strength test was performed on at least 3 samples from each ratio according to technique with the examined conditions of the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM). While Archimedes’ saturation method was used to determine apparent porosity and bulk density on at least 3 samples from each ratio also. Thermogravimetric analysis was performed for the present samples to evaluate their thermal stability and weight loss under elevated temperatures. |
