Abstract
The area under investigation is located in the northeastern Western Desert and
northwest of Beni-Suef, principally that covers Kattaniya inversion, Gindi basin, El-Fayum
depression and Wadi Al – Rayan area. It is extended to the east of the Nile River and bounded
by Latitudes 29° N and 30° 30` N and Longitudes 29° 15` E and 31° 30` E. Several
techniques were applied such as 2D Modelling, and Power Spectrum Transformation.
Interpretation of thirty seismic sections and data from five drilled wells using Petrel software
version 2017 to construct structure maps of different horizons. Processing and interpretation
of Landsat 8 and Sentinel 2A multispectral data using Erdas Imagine software version 2014
for mapping and discrimination of different rock units and structure elements exposed in the
study area.
