Abstract

Acknowledgements
All gratitude to Allah, the Almighty, for bestowing his mercy on me and providing me with the strength and persistence to complete my research.
This project would not have been possible without the support of many people. I would like to express my deepest thanks to my dear supervisor, Prof. Salwa Farag, for her constant care and support. Her faith in my research capabilities has led me through the journey to accomplish the current work. Her patience with reading my work has been unlimited and her comments were the most enlightening. Thanks are extended to my dear supervisor, Prof. Mona Attia, for her guidance and inspiring feedback since the beginning of my research journey as an undergraduate student until this moment. Her academic support has always gone side by side with her emotional reassurance and constant care. I am indebted to both my supervisors for all what they have presented to me.
Many thanks go to my professors and colleagues in the English Department for encouraging and motivating me to pursue my research. I am absolutely fortunate to be surrounded with such great scholars and researchers that are a limitless source of inspiration to have in the academic field.
I am grateful to my parents for their unconditional love, care, and support. My parents’ prayers and best wishes have been the fuel for me to never stop. I am full of appreciation and gratitude for what they have presented, and still present, to me over the years of my life. My husband, Ahmed, has always been by my side in every stage of my research journey, reading topics in my field and discussing them with me to form a source of enlightenment. His unconditional love and support are unforgettable. His parents, my second family, have always been there for me to support. Their sincere prayers have always been a source of reassurance. My kids, Noureddin, Aseya, and Youssuf had to bear with my busy days working on my research.
I am blessed with having an amazing circle of friends, who are also a family to me. Sondoss, Sarah, Enjy, and Nehal you are such a great support system in my life.
