Abstract Adenoidal hypertrophy is enlargement of lymphoid tissues in the nasopharynx. It can lead to symptoms such as nasal obstruction and snoring in children. While adenoidectomy is the traditional treatment, potential complications have driven the exploration of non-surgical options. Corticosteroids, particularly mometasone furoate nasal spray, have shown promise in reducing adenoid size and improving symptoms through various mechanisms. Mometasone furoate stands out among other nasal steroids due to its favorable properties. Multiple studies have reported positive effects of mometasone nasal spray on nasal obstruction in adenoidal hypertrophy. A systematic review supported its efficacy in improving overall nasal symptoms and quality of life. Further research is recommended to assess its safety and optimize treatment protocols. |
