Abstract

In order to work with others to create new ideas and implement regulations, knowledge sharing is a collection of specific actions that involves exchanging data or relevant knowledge. Informally, intensive care unit nurses converse in the coffee shop and cafeteria, discuss experiences that could be useful to the group at ICU nurse meetings, and/or communicate online after work hours. It is anticipated that by participating in these knowledge-sharing activities, ICU nurses will become more creative overall. With the assistance of other clinicians, the backing of leadership and management, and the use of ideas drawn from nursing practice and shared within the unit, more evidence-based innovations can be started and developed. The nurses who work in intensive care units are the ones who initiate changes in clinical practice, making them a significant source of innovation in the medical field.
