The current study aimed to reveal the effect of a training program based on the theory of cognitive flexibility to modify cognitive distortions and its impact on future thinking among secondary school students. The study sample consisted of (30) male and female students from the first year of general secondary school, whose ages ranged between (16-18) years. With an average age of (16.4) and a standard deviation of (0.32) years at Sadat Military Secondary School and Girls’ Secondary School in the Kharga Educational Administration in New Valley Governorate for the academic year 2022/2023 AD, the study tools were applied to them, namely: the cognitive distortions scale, and the future thinking scale. And a training program based on the theory of cognitive flexibility. The results of the study resulted in the presence of statistically significant differences between the average scores of the experimental group in the repeated measurements (pre-post-following) of the cognitive distortions scale in the direction of the post and follow-up measurements, and the presence of statistically significant differences between the average scores The experimental group in repeated measurements (pre-post-following) of the future thinking scale in the direction of the post and follow-up measurements.
