Abstract P-wave dispersion (PWD) : is the difference between the longest (Pmax) and the shortest (Pmin) P-wave duration measured in any of the standard ECG leads.P-wave dispersion is a valuable tool for predicting atrial fibrillation and could support means to control several risk factors of atrial fibrillation and prevent its devastating clinical outcome Aim of the work: To evaluate any correlation between the P-wave dispersion values and different demographic, clinical and ECHO parameters among patients with Paroxysmal Atrial Fibrillation.Patient and Methods:Our study is a cross sectional with comparative component which was delivered in inpatient Cardiology Department, Specialized Internal Medical Hospital, Mansoura University–and included 48 patients with documented paroxysmal AF-all of our patients undergone clinical examination ,electrocardiography, laboratory results ,and echocardiography, then the data were analyzed .Conclusion: from these results we concluded that association between p wave dispersion & the following ;Older age of the studied cases&Diabetic cases & hypertensive cases &LAD Left ventricle size and diastolic dysfunction grade &positive moris index . |
