Abstract Awareness of cervical cancer causes. Screening can help in reducing the risk of disease and death among women. Moreover, they help to decrease the disease burden on healthcare services. Aim of the study: Assess awareness, beliefs, and behaviors of women about cervical cancer screening at primary health care centers in Port Said City. Design: A descriptive cross-sectional research design. Settings: This study was conducted in six primary healthcare centers affiliated with Port Said City from each district one primary healthcare center was randomly selected. Subjects and method: A purposive sample of married women attending family planning clinics aged (18-50) years old. The actual field was started during the period from the beginning of December 2021 to March 2022. Tools of data collection: Four tools were used to collect data, demographic characteristics, women’s awareness about cervical cancer, women’s health beliefs regarding cervical cancer, and women’s behavior regarding cervical cancer. Results: All the women had average awareness scores regarding cervical cancer awareness. Also, there was a statistically significant relationship between women’s health beliefs regarding cervical cancer screening and women’s awareness and beliefs on cervical cancer screening including health beliefs perceived susceptibility, severity, benefits, and cue to action. Conclusion: Most of the women had average awareness regarding cervical cancer screening. There was a statistically significant relation between Women’s health beliefs regarding cervical cancer screening and Women’s awareness and beliefs on cervical cancer screening including health beliefs perceived susceptibility, severity, benefits, and cue to action. There was a statistically significant relation between educational level and health belief perceived severity, benefit, and awareness, and there was a statistically significant relation between monthly income, health belief perceived benefits, and cue to action. |
