Abstract The Present study aimed to determine the effect of used sweeteners and herbs on the metabolism of diabetic rats.group 1 :Non diabetic control group: In which rats fed on the basal diet through the period.group 2 :Diabetic control:In which diabetic rats treated in the same Way as group1.group 3 :Diabetic fructose group:In which the rats fed on basel diet, without sucrose, and contain 10% fructose on the expense of the same amount of starch.group 4 :Diabetic aspartame group:In which rats fed on basal diet without sucrose and contain aspartame(4g/kg diet).group 5 :Diabetic acesulfame-K group: In which rats fed in the same way as diabetic aspartame, whereas acesulfame used instead of aspartame.group 6 :Thyme diabetic group: In which rats fed on basal diet, as control group, supplemented with thyme (50g ).group 7 :Coriander diabetic group:In which rats fed as in group 6, but consider (50g) was used insted of thyme.group 8 :Marjoram diabrtic group: In which rats fed as in group 6, but Marjoram (50g) was used insted of thyme.Blood samples were taken weekly from each rat blood suger analysis, while total cholestrol, triglyceride, LDL, HDL, and VLDL were determined only at the end of second avd fourth weeks only.Initial and final body as well as daily feed intake were measured as well as body weight gain and total feed intake were calculated. |
