Abstract Within the limitations of the present study, it was found that: 1. Intraoral cryotherapy application for 30 minutes with 3 applications (10 minutes each) using ice gel in a plastic cover customized for patients reduced postoperative pain levels following single-visit root canal treatment in single-rooted premolar teeth diagnosed with irreversible pulpitis with symptomatic apical periodontitis . 2. Intraoral cryotherapy reduced Substance P levels but with no significant difference between cryotherapy and control group. 3. There was a moderate positive significant correlation between Substance P level and post operative pain. |
