Abstract This Study has been written to discuss the value of lateral first peritoneal dissection of calot triangle (dissection levels starting lateral to the cystic duct and also lateral to the cystic artery in a V-shaped manner surrounding the infundibulum) in laparoscopic cholecystectomy for acute and chronic cholecystitis. We decided to search that in this topic as an attempt to identify how early we can identify vascular and biliary structures, anatomical variations and how to minimize the incidence of biliovascular injuries in laparoscopic cholecystectomy. We have exhibited some history of cholecystectomy surgeries, anatomical variations, complications, value of lateral first peritoneal dissection of calot triangle in laparoscopic cholecystectomies , our methodology, results and our recommendations. |
